The Chiefs won every event on their way to a CAAC Blue Division dual meet victory.  First place finishers were:

200 free--Amelia Marsh

200 IM--Monique Pentecost

50 free--Madison Batchelor

Diving--Carolyn Wallace

100 fly--Amelia Marsh

100 free--Kylie Holden

500 free--Lydia Roth

200 free relay--Kelly Schwaner, Sally Yan, Marie Marsh and Amelia Marsh

100 back--Kylie Holden

100 breast--Monique Pentecost

400 free relay--Nicki Baron, Emily Laub, Mariya Smith, Amelia Marsh

 

There are some new names up there on the winners board for relays which is great to see.  Swimmer of the meet goes to Mo Pentecost.   Monique is benefiting this year from good coaching and daily competition in practice and the results are beginning to show up in her meet performances.  Don't be surprised if Mo makes a run at a couple state cuts this season.  Other good swims from the evening were solid 500 times from Lydia and Laura, a good medley back split and IM from Mariya, Jenna Lademan starting to come on in diving, Kylie's 100 free time of 56.8 from a flat start, and finally Emily Laub and Nicki Barron coming through on the winning 400 free relay.

 

Grand Ledge is rebuilding this year after graduating a large senior class, but their coaches always do a great job of getting their team ready for the league meet and I would expect some big drops in time from their team in another month.
